For those who have experienced trauma, it can become a means of stabilization and self-regulation. Music also creates a space for shared experience: collective music-making, singing or rhythmic interaction help restore a sense of belonging and support. It activates areas of the brain associated with memory, emotions and a sense of security, contributing to a return to inner integrity and meaning. That is why, at the initiative of the Academic Symphony Orchestra, in cooperation with the Victory Beats music therapy project, the Lviv Philharmonic continues <a href=\"https:\/\/victorybeats.org\/en\/music-therapy\/first-relaxation-session-with-symphonic-orchestra\/\">the trauma-sensitive art program.<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Events take place throughout the year at the Lviv Philharmonic and other locations, including the Superhumans Center for Combat Trauma Treatment. The format of the work will be developed by a team of specialists with extensive experience in the field of trauma-sensitive art. One of the main missions of the project is to create a safe space for the expression and processing of complex emotions, as well as to promote the psycho-emotional recovery of military personnel, veterans and civilians undergoing treatment and rehabilitation after injuries sustained as a result of hostilities or terrorist attacks by Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next event of the program will be a concert with the participation of a symphony orchestra, where electronic ambient music will be combined with the acoustic sound of classical instruments performed by the veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Ivanko and the chamber string orchestra of the Philharmonic. The score for the orchestra was created by British composer and music therapist Nigel Osborne based on material that arose during music therapy sessions with military personnel at the Unbroken rehabilitation center. The music for the event was also written by Volodymyr Nedohoda and Oleksandr Sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab<em>\u201cPlaying ambient music for orchestral musicians is difficult and sometimes boring: it often consists of long notes that seem to lead nowhere and are more convenient to generate electronically. But there is a special magic in the live sound of instruments.&nbsp;<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As an orchestral arranger, I combined deep musical structures with shifting electronic soundscapes. The composition slowly unfolds modern fugues and canons, and although the rhythmic track is written almost entirely in natural C major, these structures run through all the musical modes of the early Renaissance (as well as modern jazz and minimalism): Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian - and so on, in a circle.
