Now this console will become part of our therapeutic DJ program, where anyone can discover their musical possibilities or even fulfill a long-standing dream. We will also use it during relaxation sessions for veterans and civilians who have experienced the consequences of war.
Thank you to everyone who joined this collection. Every beat is a step towards recovery
On May 11, at the HVLV Bar feat. Hangout cultural center (Kyiv), we publicly presented EnterDJ for the first time – an initiative that offers DJing as an art therapy tool for veterans, displaced persons and anyone interested.
The program was presented by the head of Victory BeatsVolodymyr Nedogoda, Vlad FisunDJBuro, Andreas Bosch, Yevhen Skrypnyk Shum.Raveand the host was Senior Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy ‘DJ Duchesse’ Lytvynenko.
Sometime in February, Superhumans Center. been visited by Serhiy Zhadan and "Sobaki v Kosmosi". We chatted for a while, showed our music therapy Victory Beats, and the idea came up to play together. “Let’s go to Festrepublic on May 3,” he says. Let’s go, let’s go, though, in two months patients are often discharged and we have to start rehearsals from scratch and take into account the priority tasks of rehabilitation. But for people with unlimited possibilities, nothing is impossible.
A couple of days before this conversation, Ilya stopped by the center, who dreamed of returning to music. And dreams must come true. Sasha, our regular participant, also could not miss the opportunity to raise his level of guitar playing, which he had only recently begun to master. However, for about a month, we still did not have a clear lineup, because treatment is the most important thing and makes its own adjustments. And then at the end of March, the fantastic Maksym joined us, who, despite the loss of his fingers, showed everyone what an indomitable will and mastery of playing the bass are.
“Can I try to play quietly here?” Vitaliy asked in mid-April. Of course you can. On stage. As an opening guitar. “And I would like to play the drums again and train my injured leg,” says Maksym. Well, you get the idea. The cherry on the cake was Stanislav, who came with his electric guitar last week and, immediately after the operation, went on stage and added fiery drive with his riffs.
It’s hard to say who had the biggest therapeutic effect: the guys during these weeks of fun classes or the several thousand people under the stage, who shouted “Malva! Malva!” and jumped uncontrollably despite the rain. Everyone had a great time, and looking at such great people, you remember the words of the song that Ilya sang at a secret concert in front of the main show: There is hope!
Another great news — famous Ukrainian musician Andrey Averin (ShivaOm) has made a generous contribution to the development of our therapeutic DJ program by donating us a Native Instruments Maschine Micro drum machine!
This instrument opens up new opportunities for creative self-expression for our program participants and significantly expands the possibilities of music therapy. Now, even more veterans and war victims will be able to find their way to inner recovery through rhythm, sound, and improvisation.
Thank you very much, Andrey, for this important step of support!
Music heals — especially when it is created by one’s own hands.
Thank you to everyone who joined The Rhythm of Peace The Rhythm of Peaceinitiative, which we ran with our Spanish friend DJ Shantiago
This equipment will soon be used in the Hab Ablation Space, in our therapeutic DJing program, and in relaxation sessions for veterans and civilians who have experienced the traumatic events of war.
With your help, we are creating a space where rhythm is the path to recovery
